Description
“This is the story of one thumb’s quest to prove that you don’t need a big muscular body to achieve greatness. Or any body at all, for that matter…”
In April 2022, a young fellow called Michael took on a grand challenge. Spurred on by a love of walking, combined with the philosophy that ‘you can’t have too much of a good thing’, he set out to walk the entire length of the Trans Pennine Trail, from the starting point on England’s East Coast to the finishing point on its West.
It was a journey that would take in the full range of the country’s scenery, from bleak industrial landscapes to bustling city centres to glorious countryside vistas. Not to mention the quirky situations and eccentric characters encountered along the way.
‘Walking the Trans Pennine Trail’ is a day-by-day account of the complete 14-day 215-mile odyssey, with all of its ups and downs (both literal and figurative). Oh, and by the way, it’s told from the perspective of Michael’s thumb.
