ANTONÍN DVOŘÁK: Humoresque
Arranged for bassoon quartet by Michael A. Grant
The term ‘Humoresque’ is used to describe pieces that have a humorous character and mood. Dvořák wrote a series of eight Humoresques for solo piano in 1894. The seventh of these soon proved the most popular, and was rearranged for many different ensembles.
This arrangement can be performed as a bassoon quartet or (by eliminating the optional 4th part) as a trio.

First off I want to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if
you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior
to writing. I have had a difficult time clearing my mind
in getting my ideas out. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes
are generally wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?
Cheers!
